Im Equal To A Mosquito

First of all this is just a writing.  If you have read any of my earlier hubs you already know I am about saving money.  However this hub is different.  It’s just a writing, something I was thinking about this morning.  You will notice it has no keywords or anything like that.  This is just a hub focused on my thoughts of this morning.

I did squash a mosquito this morning and at the very moment I looked at my hand and saw the lifeless insect I thought about how powerful we are in one respect but envisioned how weak in another.  I thought about the bigger picture.  As I looked at the lifeless body of the mosquito I realized it didn’t even know what hit it.  One second it was on my leg trying to take the very blood that keeps me alive and not even a second later it was nothing.

As I sat there staring at the lifeless corpse I thought about the power we have to take life in an instant.  I thought we must be the most powerful force on earth.  Then another thought came to me.  Are we actually that much different from a mosquito?  Is there a force out there that looks at us as mosquitoes?  After all on a daily basis thousands of humans are killed in ways not so different from this mosquito.

Look at the news on any given day and you will see the relevance to the mosquitoes. We have flooding, fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons, tsunamis, hunger, starvation, murder, cancer, aids, murder and so forth and so forth. These are just a small number of things that are controlled by a greater force. I’m sure if I asked we could build a list of hundreds and hundreds of greater forces.

So, as this hub comes to a conclusion I am standing outside looking into the sky.  I am just imagining who or what is looking back down at me.  Exactly how big is the great universe that will forever go unexplored?  Will we ever be much higher on the totem pole than a mosquito?  Oh sure, I am quite aware of intelligence, brain cells, blah, blah and what not.  In saying that is our intelligence at a level of a mosquito in comparison to what else may be up there.

I absolutely don’t and never will claim to be any sort of expert or anything in this area.  Heck I’m even having trouble thinking what area it is.  Perhaps philosophy, religion, morality, God I have no clue.  I also know you are going to tell me there have been many books written on this very subject.  In all honesty I will probably never read them because if there is one thing I do know for fact is that anything I would be reading would all be based on theory and not fact.
